According to the latest reports, Konami are reviving the Silent Hill franchise with several new projects. One of the games could be officially revealed in 2022.

Konami are reviving their premium game development and have have several games in the works at the moment, including multiple Silent Hill games. One of the games could be in the works at Polish studio Bloober Team while the second tile has been outsourced to a prominent Japanese developer earlier this year, reports VGC.

At the moment, the details about these games are pretty scarce so everything is just speculation at this point but reveals and new details should be coming at major shows next year like E3 2022 if everything goes according to plan.

Interestingly, the report states that Konami bosses have refused to greenlit most pitches for Silent Hill. As an example, Until Dawn studio Supermassive were interested in working on the game and even pitched their idea but Konami apparently said no.

"Konami’s Japanese bosses are understood to have historically pushed back against most pitches to outsource its key games brands, which is a big reason why previous pitches for Silent Hill games, such as one by Until Dawn studio Supermassive, weren’t greenlit."

We assume that at least one of the projects could be a new Silent Hills game as some insiders suggested but until officially revealed, please take everything with a grain of salt just like any other rumour or leak, even though VGC is a reliable source.
