Mouse: P.I. For Hire has been delayed. Previously scheduled for March 19, the first-person shooter has been pushed back to April 16. Developer Fumi Games made the announcement in a statement sent along with publisher PlaySide Studios.
Fans of Mouse's rubberhose animation art style can expect “the finishing touches” as it enters its final stage of development, per the studio. It’s a short delay but yet another change for the game, which was once rumoured to arrive in 2024 before shifting to sometime in early 2026.
In a statement about the delay, Fumi Games said: "As we approach the final stages of development, we want to ensure we are taking the extra time and care needed to make MOUSE: P.I. for Hire an experience to remember. We remain unwavering in our goal to deliver you the best game we can, and that will take just an extra few weeks". This delay is to allow for more polish, rather than any kind of sweeping changes.
A Noir Shooter With Classic Cartoon Style
Mouse: P.I. for Hire takes place in the shadowy metropolis of Mouseburg. Your character is Jack Pepper, a private investigator who has been hired by a mysterious woman to work on her case.
Naturally, it won’t be long before you uncover dealings of corruption and scandal lurking beneath Mouseburg’s streets. Players can expect a mix of detective work sprinkled in with stylish action.
Our private eye is well armed with:
- Pistols, tommy guns
- Little inventions like a freeze gun
- A corrosive ray
Of course, Jack won’t be punching everything that moves. Investigation will take place as you search Mouseburg for clues and question suspects.
Mouse: P.I. For Hire will release for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2 on April 16.
