Microsoft have announced a new version of the Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 for Xbox consoles and PC. The new Core controller comes in white and costs $129.99.
So what makes this one cheaper than the standard Elite Series 2? Well, basically, Microsoft removed a bunch of accessories from the packaging to cut down the price. You only get the USB-C cable and thumbstick adjustment tool in the box.
The standard Elite Series 2 controller comes with a bunch of additional accessories like paddles, a carrying case and thumbsticks among other things but it also costs $50 more.
Here's what you get with each version of the controller:
Xbox Elite Series 2 CORE
- Controller
- Thumbstick adjustment tool
- USB-C cable
Xbox Elite Series 2
- Controller
- Thumbstick adjustment tool
- USB-C cable
- Charging dock
- Set of four paddles
- Four additional thumbsticks
- Additional D-pad
- Carrying Case
Xbox also revealed that they are bringing the Elite Series 2 controller to the Design Lab, meaning that players will be able to create their own unique controller. This was one of the most requested features by Xbox fans so it's nice to see that Microsoft listened and will be adding Elite Series 2 to Design Lab this holiday.
