Microsoft and Sony congratulated Nintendo on their official Twitter accounts on the successful launch of Switch's great exclusive, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
We experienced a rather odd event yesterday on the social media platform Twitter, which may be regarded as a genuine minor precedent in gaming history. Specifically, PlayStation and Xbox congratulated Nintendo , the third rival firm that develops consoles, on the successful launch of Nintendo's great exclusive, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom , on their official accounts.
It is important to note that Microsoft is not unfamiliar with this type of behavior given the fact that many Xbox games are playable on the Switch .
For Sony , on the other hand, it is a great step forward that they even mention anything that is not part of the PlayStation Universe on their official social media. Sony is obviously moving cautiously on this matter, as is indicated in the tweet they published, in which they just reference the world of The Legend of Zelda and not the game's name or Nintendo, like Microsoft did in their tweet.
Even though such news is exceedingly unusual and practically nonexistent, it is nevertheless a ray of optimism that the console wars might be somewhat subdued in the future and that the console titans will begin to value one another rather than view one another as an unhealthy source of rivalry.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom currently holds an average score of 96 on Metacritic and is the 28th highest-rated game on that platform. As for the more recent OpenCritic, Zelda holds an average score of 97 and is the highest-rated game in the platform's 8-year history.
