Mere moments after The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom saw the light of day, a sppedrunner called gymnast86 posted a video on YouTube showcasing his full game's run in only 94 minutes.
Soon after posting the video of his speedrun, he also posted a follow-up video where he tried to explain everything he was doing in his endeavor to beat the latest action adventure from Nintendo . He explained that, in order to achieve this undertaking, he had to use some new tricks since the spoils he used in beating Breath of the Wild had already been addressed by the developers.
According to the information on the game's official website, you will need approximately 38 hours to finish only the main story in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and if you want to do extra content, then 64 hours. How speedrunners manage to do it in this short period of time is, without doubt, an admirable effort.
This is one of the first speedruns that this Nintendo Switch exclusive has received so far. Of course, new speedrun techniques will be developed over time, and their execution times will get faster and faster, although the result that gymnast86 showed is still very impressive.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available as of today, May 12, 2023, for all Nintendo Switch users. It is believed that Tears of the Kingdom is going to be the last big Nintendo Switch exclusive.
