Shortly after the launch of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1, which includes the first three Metal Gear Solid games, fans have discovered some very interesting clues when digging through the code of the official launcher of the new collection.
As revealed by social media X user PC Focus, the code includes mention of Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Metal Gear Solid 5, which are not part of the Vol.1 package.
The obvious conclusion is that Konami are indeed working on more collections if that wasn't clear by now. They certainly didn't called the first released Volume 1 for no reason. Additionally, Konami's official website clearly states that this only "the first in a new collection of games from the legendary series."
Konami are yet to officially announce Metal Gear Solid Collection Vol. 2 so until that happens, take everything you see with a grain of salt and nothing more.
However, it does look like it's only a matter of time before the Japanese publisher announces another Metal Gear Solid Collection with those popular games that were found in the launcher's files.
If we had to guess, we'd say the announcement could be coming at Geoff Keihgley's The Game Awards 2023 show, which airs in December. If Konami miss out on that opportunity, then we get the confirmation in early 2024 with a potential release date of late 2024.
As you probably know, Konami have other Metal Gear Solid projects in the works, namely the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, which is coming soon to PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
