Konami revealed that the controller will be mandatory for playing Metal Gear Solid Master Collection games on the PC platform. PC players will turn to the modding community to work around this problem.

After yesterday's formal announcement of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, which will be accessible on all platforms of this generation, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, Konami got a deluge of compliments along with encouraging comments from fans.

The remakes of these Konami classics should see the light of day on October 24, 2023, when the official release date of the collection was announced.

However, not all platform users will be equally happy since PC players will be robbed of their beloved keyboard and mouse control schemes. As the people from Konami report, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection will only be playable using controllers.

Of course, knowing the modding PC community, this restriction will only be official, while unofficially all sorts of modes will be present to workaround this issue.

Along with the numerous compliments that Konami receives on social media, many people, particularly PC players, criticise Konami for not doing enough to make games more accessible to PC users. However, knowing Konami, you shouldn't expect things to be any different today since every PC port they've ever created has been quite unfriendly to PCs.

Finally, it's worth noting that Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection will only be available on Steam, not on Epic, and it's common knowledge that modders prefer to work on games on the Steam platform because they have more experience there and it's much more customizable.
