Konami have registered a trademark for Project Zircon, which is believed to be a new Castlevania game since Zircon is a jewel found in several games in the Castlevania series.

Reports about Konami outsourcing the Castlevania franchise have first surface back in 2021 but since then, we haven't heard much about that. Konami are yet to officially announce the next Castlevania game but have recently said that it's encouraging to see fans wanting more, after the release of Dead Cells Castlevania DLC.

And it's possible that we won't have to wait for too long to get that official announcement from Konami, who have registered a new trademark, which many fans believe to be for a new Castlevania game.

The trademark is for "Project Zircon" which probably doesn't mean much if you're not a hardcore Castlevania fan. It's been pointed out that Zircon is actually a jewel found in several Castlevania games.

While this is nowhere near enough to say with confidence that Project Zircon is indeed a new Castlevania game, it certainly sparked speculation among the fans who are waiting to hear more about their favourite franchise.

Some are sceptical, though, thinking that the trademark is probably for an NFT project and not a new Castlevania, which would be a massive disappointment to all of those who have high hopes for this action-adventure series.

Konami have previously commented on their desire to make a new Castlevania game but we're still waiting for that to come to fruiting. Leaving such a legendary franchise doesn't make a lot of sense and we really hope we'll see a new Castlevania game sooner rather than later.
