League of Legends underwent a significant transformation ever since its 2008 launch, with 150-plus characters, upgraded graphics and constant updates to revamp the game. With newer releases, however, having cleaner looks and nicer mechanics, older characters stand out in contrast and can even start to look outdated.
To address that, Riot Games consistently reworks and renews its champions, both in terms of looks and in terms of function. Some of its champions have gotten an Art and Sustainability Update (ASU) in years gone by, and most recently, Viktor saw a visual and in-game update.
Riot has actually confirmed that LeBlanc will follow soon with an ASU, but new information comes out about additional updates in store for them.
Which champion will win the next ASU?
Reliable League of Legends leak source Big Bad Bear confirmed that Riot is mulling over three Noxian champions for the impending ASU following LeBlanc. According to the leak, Katarina, Darius and Vladimir have been under consideration for it.
Katarina received a rework in Season 7, but her character model and animations have a outdated feel in comparison to newer characters. An ASU could update her with a new model and new animations.
Darius remains a dominant and fan-favorite champion, but his model hasn't aged particularly well. With a strong gameplay, an ASU could refresh his character model and VFX.
Vladimir is most in desperate need of an update, most noticeably with an older model and older animations, and with a full revamp hoped for him following his stint in "Bite Marks" recently.
While Riot hasn't confirmed yet who will receive an ASU, all three have a high probability of getting one in the near future.
