League of Legends: Wild Rift is a multiplayer online battle arena mobile game developed and published by Riot Games for Android and iOS. The free-to-play game is a modified version of the PC game League of Legends.
Riot Games are introducing a new feature onto Wild Rift in the newest upcoming patch, which should really be in the PC League as well.
In essence, players will not be able to pick a champion on Ranked if they do not have enough mastery points with that certain champion. This will lower the option for players to pick champions they have never played before, or have little experience with them, and ruin your games.
It's definitely a feature that should be implemented in League of Legends as well, where ranked games are taken far more seriously than in Wild Rift. Though, there may be some issues, such as getting auto-filled and not being able to pick a champion appropriate for that role.
Truth be told, though, the current League of Legends meta has advanced enough that, most champions can be played in various roles, as long as you accommodate for their playstyle.
Besides, most players have played the most basic champions of every role, when learning League of Legends, to try and find their own champion pool.
