The newest event in League of Legends is the Star Guardian event, with skins and game modes accompanying it. But what is the story behind it all? Here we explain just that.
In the beginning, the First Star gave birth to the universe and all life. To protect its creations and ensure the cycle of life would continue for eternity, the First Star entrusted individuals iron-willed and pure of heart with fragments of its essence—starlight—as protectors of the universe, the Star Guardians.
The first team we are aware of consisted of Ahri, Miss Fortune, Xayah, Rakan, and Neeko. One which was destroyed in the fight against an ancient enemy, Zoe, with Rakan and Xayah being turned into her puppets and Neeko stranded and escaping their pursuit.
On the other side of the galaxy, Lux forms her own team, with Jinx, Lulu, Janna, and Poppy. Like all shounen and shoujou anime, their bond grows in the heat of battle, which they win due to the power of love and friendship.
However, Ahri and Miss Fortune are hardened veterans of the League of Legends Star Guardians universe and are not so easily swayed into believing in destiny.
These two teams meet, with Ahri and Miss Fortune joining Syndra, Ezreal, and Soraka in a new team, to fight back against
the void scourge. It is there that Lux manages to thaw the heart of Ahri, who has stopped believing in destiny and perhaps even despises the First Star.
In the end, or as far into the story as we have gotten, Zoe has been pushed back while attacking the hometown o the Guardians, and Neeko is saved from the pursuit of the fallen Guardians.
However, there is a possibility here that Riot Games may turn the tables on us, and make First Star the actual antagonist, instead of Zoe. After all, if we look deeply into it, First Star forces Star Guardians to battle at its orders, forever, or until they meet their end.
