Riot Games is set to introduce changes to the rune system in the upcoming patch, 4.3, for Wild Rift, the mobile version of League of Legends. In addition to champion selection and in-game items, the rune system allows players to further customize their champions and enhance their abilities.
Unlike the more complex rune system in the PC version, Wild Rift currently features a simpler version. Players start by selecting a keystone, followed by choosing up to three secondary runes from each slot.
However, Riot has revealed a preview for patch 4.3, showcasing a revamp of the existing rune system. In the updated rune system, players will experience a closer resemblance to the PC version.
The keystone selection will no longer be tied to specific rune paths, distinguishing it from the current system in Wild Rift. Instead, players will choose their first path from four available options: Precision, Domination, Sorcery, and Inspiration.
Once the initial path is chosen, players can select up to three secondary runes from that path. Additionally, players will have the opportunity to select one more additional path, but only one secondary rune can be chosen from that path.
With these changes, Riot has also introduced two new keystones, namely First Strike and Glacial Augment, to the game. Alongside the new keystones, several other secondary runes have been added. These updates will encourage players to experiment with different rune builds and potentially optimize their gameplay.
Players can expect the updated rune system to be implemented in Wild Rift with the release of patch 4.3 on July 19, 2023. This change presents an exciting opportunity for players to explore new strategies and enhance their champion's performance on the mobile platform.
