Two things govern how smooth your gaming experience is going to be. That would be your ping and your FPS. And this time, FPS is fluctuating like mad when playing League of Legends.

While your MS, also known as your ping, can be caused by some issue at Riot Games ' end, due to servers, FPS should only be affected by your own hardware, when playing League of Legends .

Unfortunately, that is not the case, as players have been reporting the drop of FPS , consistently, from all over the world.

After quite some time of this happening, and Rio Games seemingly ignoring the problem, it seems that they've realized that the only common denominator for these issues was League of Legends, in the end, instead of the players themselves.

On Reddit, Riot Tony came out explaining that, while Riot would like to be working on the problem, they cannot reproduce the issue internally, and are unable to fix it due to this.

So they are asking players to send them feedback, in the form of tickets, when they experience a drop in FPS in their games. The tickets are easy enough to send.

All you need to do is send them an .rpd file of the game where the issue happened, with the corresponding hardware information:

  • CPU
  • GPU
  • GPU driver version:
  • Reproduction rate: (e.g., every game or once every ten games)

Riot Games also believe that some overlays may be the cause of this issue as well, so, should you be using any, it would help to point that out as well. Hopefully, this issue is fixed soon, as a 5-10 minute time period where FPS drops significantly is enough to ruin any game.
