Riot announces the new BoyBand skin line

Besides the Cafe Cuties skins, coming in League of Legends Patch 13.21, players can look forward to the addition of the new BoyBand skin line too.

In recent years, Riot Games have ventured into music-themed skin releases in League of Legends, a trend that first started with skins like Popstar Ahri and DJ Sona. This musical influence extended to other skin themes that incorporated actual music or soundtracks.

The first notable entry was the K/DA skin line, which included skins for Ahri, Akali, Kai’Sa, Evelynn, and later, Seraphine, and represented the K-pop genre.

There was also the K/DA ALL OUT variant. True Damage followed, featuring DJ-style skins for Yasuo, Ekko, Qiyana, and more. The Pentakill series further embraced this musical direction, appealing to hardcore music lovers, even releasing albums in addition to skins.

The BoyBand skins

Now, Riot is teasing a BoyBand skin line, with Kayn set to receive a Legendary skin. The lineup includes:

Kayn (Legendary skin)
Yone (regular skin + prestige version)
Aphelios
Ezreal
K’Sante
Sett

Kayn will be the recipient of the Legendary skin, while Yone gets a standard skin along with a prestige version. This collection will have a total of 7 skins.

Anticipation is mounting for the inclusion of music in this skin line as well, especially given the track record of previous music-themed releases. Riot Games Music is also hinting at the possibility of music accompanying this theme.

BoyBand Skins possible release date

As a skin line that includes a Prestige skin, these BoyBand-themed skins are expected to debut in Patch 13.22, which is set to be part of the Worlds 2023 Event Pass.

Players can look forward to acquiring these skins during the event, with a scheduled release date of November 8, 2023. This new addition to the League of Legends skin collection is sure to excite both music and gaming players alike.
