Riot Games have a tendency to change around three items every League of Legends patch, to curb their usefulness, or buff their stats.
In this patch, the only item they are changing is Evenshroud, an item built by engage support champions with high crowd control. It's obvious that Riot are buffing Thresh and Leona for Worlds, without wanting to make it too obvious.
Evenshroud is an item that makes all enemy champions in a radius of 600 units around their immobilized ally gain Coruscation damage. It works similarly to Imperial Mandate, but on multiple champions, and not just for the net attack.
"Enchanters are still overshadowing other support classes, so we’re looking to put some more power into tank supports to even the playing field. So we’re buffing Evenshroud’s damage amplification systems which took a small hit with the Durability Update."
The changes to Evenshroud in patch 12.16 are:
- CORUSCATION DURATION 4 seconds ⇒ 5 seconds
- CORUSCATION DAMAGE AMPLIFICATION 9% ⇒ 10%
All of these will also apply to Equinox, and Ornn upgraded item. And, while enchanters are still the most optimal pick in the support role, forcing a change to a meta, after leaving it alone for months just leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
