Neocore Games announced that their take on the turn-based RPG entry, King Arthur: Kngiht's Tale, is now available in Early Access, with more content to come.
King Arthur: Knight's Tale may sound like it's another story of the Excalibur, knights of the round table or even the fabled king himself but none of those are entirely correct. You are instead placed in the shoes of Sir Mordred, Arthur's nemesis, and you have already managed to strike down the king.
However, Arthur managed to strike a mortal blow with his dying breath and now you're both dead. Lady of the Lake then took Arthur to Avalon but something went wrong so she brought Mordred back from the dead to deal with it and this is where the game's story begins. Quite a gripping take but it remains to be seen whether the presentation will manage to hold up to the high standard.
If you'd like to wade through this story in Mordred's boots, it will set you back $34.99 / €34.99 , which is quite high for a game in Early Access, although the game is set to release later in 2021 so technically, this shouldn't be a long wait. Those who backed it on Kickstarter will get the keys in their mail and can jump right into it.
Currently, the game features two story missions, eight points of interest, seven heroes from four classes, three buildings to create and upgrade in Camelot and the ability to level up until level five. These will get expanded throughout the Early Access but the announcement didn't specify how big the full game will be.
As far as PC requirements go, they are anything but harsh since even the recommended ones feature mid-range hardware from a few years ago, which is quite commendable since the game's visuals and atmosphere are looking great so far.
