Helldivers 2 had plenty of ups and downs since its launch six months ago. From a viral hit that was taking the world by storm to a game that lost over 80 per cent of its player count due lack of meaningful content updates and Sony's controversial PSN login requirement.
However, it looks like better days are on the horizon for Helldivers 2 and its community. Developer Arrowhead today announced a big update that will be landing in August, with a ton of new content including new mission types, new enemies, a new difficulty level and more.
Here's a quick breakdown of everything in Helldivers 2's August update:
- Difficulty Level 10
- A new system to battle kicking:
- Players who get kicked will spawn into a new session as the host with all of the team’s loot from their previous session.
- More mission variety:
- New mission objectives and bigger enemy outposts for bugs and bots with Super Sample rewards.
- New enemy types:
- Rocket Tank, The Impaler, Spore Charger and the Terminid Alpha Commander, a supercharged version of Brood Commander.
- New swamp location
Last but not least, Arrowhead are also introducing other quality-of-life upgrades with Escalation of Freedom including major fixes to the social menu to make diving with your buddies easier.
