Shadow of the Mad King event, the Guild Wars 2 equivalent of Halloween, is starting on October 18, 2022, and it will last for three weeks, until November 8.
Just like before, the event will result in themed decorations for the area outside the capital city of each race, such as Queensdale, Plains of Ashford, Wayfarer Foothills, Metrica Province and Caledon Forest.
Additionally, the festival merchants will be present so make sure you cash in since events in Guild Wars 2 are the perfect time to upset the economy that's otherwise carefully maintained by ArenaNet.
Activities during the Halloween event include:
- Mad King's Labyrinth and the mount race there
- Mad King's Clock Tower
- Ascent to Madness
- Mad King Says
- Lunatic Inquisition
- Mad Memories
- Reaper's Rumble which includes Mad King's Raceway
Besides the merchants, decorations and activities, there will be a set of achievements that will award event currency as well as a few surprises for those who are persistent enough.
Some of the most expensive cosmetics on the Trading Post originate from the Shadow of the Mad King so if you are looking to make a big buck or just want one of those for yourself, it might be a good time to grab that farming attire and dig in.
