Fear of missing out (FOMO) makes things more desirable if they will not be permanently available. That is just how our brains work, we don't want to miss out on content that we might want to experience one day, even if it's not today.
Many games exploit this to manipulate players into logging in more often or allocating more time for a particular title, with Destiny 2 being one of the most prominent abusers of the concept.
Now, Rockstar Games are dipping into FOMO with GTA Online more often and the latest car, Toundra Panthere, is a shining example as it will be available for sale for one week only. Therefore, players who wouldn't buy it immediately are likely to consider purchasing the car and if they are short on cash, they might consider buying Shark Cards. Please do not fall for this manipulation, Panthere is almost certain to come back at some point in the future.
