Fortnite's season 10 kicks off today and traditionally, there's a lot of fresh content in the update. The biggest addition is Titanfall-like mech, which can hold two players, shoot barrages of rocket fire and stomp enemies into the ground.
Season X or season 10 is now officially live in Fortnite and along with the standard additions that we get with each season like the battle pass and new rewards, the update introduces a couple of interesting items.
The biggest addition is B.R.U.T.E. mech suit which can be operated by up to two players. One player is the driver who controls the movement of the mech while the other is the gunner, whose task is to rain down missiles and shotgun shots onto the opponents.
B.R.U.T.E can dash into combat, super jump and stomp enemies and structures into the ground. As for the weapons, Shotgun damage is 50, clip size is 10 while the headshot multiplier is 1.5x.
Missile Launcher can fire up to 10 missiles at once and once all of them have been loaded, the mech will automatically unleash a devastating missile barrage.
There's also a new mechanic named Overshield which consumes 200 of any Material type to create a personal overshield for 5 seconds to protect the player in the mech.
Furthermore, the update also vaults a ton of weapons and items, which some players will certainly found a bit annoying. Starting today, you won't be able to use the following weapons/items:
- Quad Crasher
- Flint Knock Pistol
- Shadow Bomb
- Semi-Auto Sniper
- Tactical Assault Rifle
- Mounted Turret
- Air Strike
- Itemized Glider Redeploy (still available in large team modes)
Epic Games say they feel that season 10 is better experienced with a reduction in mobility, which is the reason why they vaulted items like the Baller and Glider Redeploy.
As for the battle pass, once again, over 100 rewards can be unlocked and you'll also get the X-Lord and Catalyst Outfits instantly if you decide to purchase the pass. At Tier 100, you'll unlock the hulking Ultima Knight Outfit, which can be seen in the image below.
