Epic Games have delivered a festive content update for Fortnite: Battle Royale, as they're gearing up to mark the game's second birthday, and it brings a new weapon in Storm Scout sniper along with birthday gifts and even birthday cake.

As you could've guessed from the name alone, the Storm Scout sniper rifle lets Fortnite players scout the surroundings and find the storm's next location simply by scoping in.

If you often find yourself stuck in situations where the Fortnite storm is at your heels, the Storm Scout will be a godsend.

Moving on from its meteorologic capabilities, Fortnite's new sniper comes in epic and legendary rarities that deal 81 and 85 damage, respectively, whereas headshots inflict 202 and 212.

Its rate of fire is 1.1 rounds of heavy ammo per second, with the reload speeds at 2.84 and 2.7 seconds for epic and legendary variants respectively.

Whether you like it or not, Fortnite: Battle Royale has truly come a long way from a mocked-up, cartoony PUBG clone, to the absolute giant it is today and nobody is more aware of that than Epic, who have prepared some birthday presents as well.

The presents are available in legendary rarity and can be found practically anywhere, although they're absent from Arena and Tournament playlists.

Each Fortnite birthday present has "six possible packages of loot", and it's fair to assume that Epic made them well worth it.

If you're more of a sweet-tooth guy or girl, then there are birthday cakes to be found around various POIs, with the same Arena and Tournament limitation.

Note that birthday cakes are not about loot - consuming one will grant you 5 health and 5 shields, and you don't even have to brush your teeth afterwards.

Note, however, that birthday cakes and presents will be available as of 25 July 2019, which the dev subsequently tweeted.

Epic have also added the Overtime Challenges, which will let you unlock rewards and gain XP throughout Fortnite's Season 9.

If you happen to be looking forward to the Fortnite , you should know that you can view them from inside the game, even while you're playing it, thanks to the Picture-in-Picture (PiP) broadcast capabilities.
