Fortnite World Cup is fast approaching and there's been plenty of action to report so far, but this is about Epic's celebrity tournament Pro-Am. So, 50 celebrities and 50 pro gamers will be duking it out for a $3 million charity prize pool.
Of course, the fact that they're individually some of the most famous inidividuals in the list doesn't really mean much when it's time for Fortnite's team-focused head clicking.
You may recall that Ninja and Marshmello won Fortnite's Pro-Am 2018 tournament, but the latter didn't return for the last one, so Ninja teamed up with American footballer Marshawn Lynch.
Unfortunately, that Fortnite pairing didn't really work out and the tournament was won by Twitch streamer Karim 'Airwaks' Benghalia and DJ RL Grime. Tfue and Josh Hart came in third and fourth whereas Ninja's duo didn't even make the top 10.
Hopefully for the two, their return incites some of their earlier magic, although we've no doubt that the quality of Fortnite's Pro-Am competition is increasing, steadily.
After all, they will be facing off Airwaks and RL Grime, so it'll be wise to bring their A-game, but Epic have confirmed a few more names that will be competing.
As you can see from the image below, the other confirmed Fortnite World Cup Pro-Am teams are Denkops & Xavier Woods, DRLupo & Sigala, One_Shot_Gurl & Chandler Riggs and last but not least Lachlan and Liam McIntyre.
Of course, these are not all the participants, but only the first wave of the confirmed ones, as Epic will be announcing many more soon. Knowing Fortnite's global appeal, we guess it shouldn't be hard, even though the proceedings go to charity.
Fortnite's Pro-Am celebrity tournament is scheduled for Friday, 26 July 2019, at 4:00pm EDT.
Popular player and streamer Shroud recently mentioned that Fortnite is the best way to go when it comes to making money, even sneaking in some criticism by saying, "They don't know how to make their game and they just have this pile of cash and they're like 'play'".
