Epic Games have released cosmetics a couple of different ways in the past. The great majority of the cosmetics have come through the in-game Item Shop - in exchange for V-Bucks, some cosmetics have been released for free, provided you can complete the tie-in challenges in time.

Fortnite developers also released a number of packs that contained exclusive cosmetics and were available for a set period of time - or until they were replaced with another item. Starter Packs usually bring a new Skin, Back Bling and V-Bucks to the players who purchase them.
