Fortnite's loot pool comprises weapons, healing and mobility items, and mythics. These items are refreshed every season to create new gameplay opportunities.
While weapons are essential for winning in Fortnite, mythics remain the better option for ripping through your opponents quickly. Mythics are ultra-rare items available through boss battles spread throughout different POIs on the map.
Previously, in Chapter 5 Season 1, players could obtain mythics by defeating high society bosses. With Season 2, these mythics have been vaulted, and Epic Games has added new boss battles with different mythics to the loot pool rotation.
All Mythics in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2
In Season 2, players can get their hands on six mythics by eliminating other bosses on the map. These mythics are based on the different weapons from Greek mythology. Here's a brief look at the new mythics:
Thunderbolt of Zeus and Huntress DMR
The Thunderbolt of Zeus and Huntress DMR can be acquired by defeating Zeus at Mount Olympus. Looking at the Seasonal promotions, the Thunderbolt mythic will become the most sought-after item in Season 2 due to its damage stats. The weapon of Artemis- Huntress DMR can also be obtained by defeating Zeus.
Gatekeeper Shotgun
The Gatekeeper Shotgun can be acquired by defeating Cerberus at the Grim Gate. This shotgun will be a more robust version of the base Gatekeeper Shotgun.
Harbinger SMG
The Harbinger SMG can be acquired by defeating Hades in The Underworld. By default, the Hades variant of the Harbinger SMG will be pre-equipped with all attachments.
Warforged AR
The Warforged AR can be acquired by defeating Ares at the Brawler’s Battleground. The Warforged AR is a fully-kitted version of the standard issue Warforged AR from the loot pool.
Wings of Icarus
The Wings of Icarus is a mobility mythic available throughout the map. It is obtainable through ground loot and from different chests. Aside from the Thunderbolt of Zeus, the Wings of Icarus is the only ability based mythic in the current loot pool.
Chains of Hades
The Chains of Hades will be added to Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2, with a future update. Players can get the Chains of Hades by defeating Hades on the map.
The mythics can be only obtained by defeating the bosses at their assigned POIs. However, the standard issue versions of these mythics are obtainable as ground loot and from different chests all throughout the map.
