Arrowhead, the developer of Helldivers 2 by Sony, has unveiled exciting updates for its popular co-op shooter. The new Warbond, named Cutting Edge, is set to release on March 14. This update will introduce fresh armour sets, weapons, capes, and emotes, all infused with electrifying aesthetics.
Warbonds serve as the sole method for unlocking weapons and armour in Helldivers 2, operating as a battle-pass system. It is accessible with a dedicated button (typically R on PC) from anywhere on your ship.
However, to unlock the contents of a Warbond, players need to use Medals. They are a primary currency acquired through completing missions, operations, and daily Personal Order quests.
Helldivers 2's Cutting Edge Warbond in detail
The EX Series Prototypes:
- EX-00 Prototype X: The end result of several billion Super Credits and 12 years of research into creating “the Soldier of Tomorrow”.
- EX-03 Prototype 3 includes a rubber underlayer for insulation. It will come in handy because this prototype’s wires operate at a shocking 400,000 volts.
- EX-16 Prototype 16: Warning: The electric arcs it creates generate a strong magnetic field. So avoid using it near stapled paperwork.
Expanded arsenal
- ARC-12 Blitzer: Unleash a close-range lightning arc or charge up for powerful bolts, perfect for clearing out multiple targets. This weapon provides plenty of time for celebration with an emote after a successful strike.
- LAS-16 Sickle: A sleek laser rifle that fires rapid bursts continuously without the need for reloading. Be mindful of overheating, or simply swap in a fresh heatsink to keep it firing smoothly.
- R&D has expanded beyond armour, introducing a brand new arsenal of weapons crafted to efficiently eliminate aliens with electrifying capabilities.
- SG-8P Punisher Plasma: This customised Punisher shotgun shoots explosive plasma rounds, making it a thrilling and potent choice for battling both aliens and allies.
Moreover, players can unlock the new stun grenade, the G-23 stun, along with the LAS-7 dagger pistol. The Warbond also adds three brand-new capes, each of which comes with corresponding player cards, as well as three brand-new emotes for more customisation options.
The best and easiest way to grind and get more weapons and accessories is by getting battle passes. And this appears to be the case for Helldivers 2 too, because so far, the rewards look too tempting.
