Final Fantasy VII Remake developer Square Enix have officially announced that their RPG title has shipped and sold digitally over 5 million copies worldwide.
Final Fantasy VII Remake has been a massive success for developer and publisher Square Enix ever since the game launched earlier this year. It has been one of the best selling titles on PlayStation 4 and today, Square Enix have officially announced another massive milestone for the title.
Final Fantasy VII Remake has shipped and digitally sold over 5 million copies worldwide according to the publisher. The game reached these numbers only six months after its release on PlayStation 4.
These numbers also mean that Final Fantasy VII Remake is the highest-selling digital release on the PlayStation platform in Square Enix's history.
"We'd like to share a Midgar-sized THANK YOU to everyone who has supported Final Fantasy y VII Remake. We shipped and digitally sold over five million copies worldwide, which has made Final Fantasy VII Remake the highest-selling digital release on the PlayStation platform in Square Enix history," Square Enix wrote in a tweet.
These numbers could skyrocket if the game also released on PC, as earlier rumours suggested. However, if the PC port is indeed in the works, then it won't be coming before April 2021 since the PS4 exclusivity deal is probably active for a full year.
For now, you can play the game only on the PlayStation 4 console.
