A new report suggests Final Fantasy 16, 7 Remake, and 7 Rebirth could be coming to Xbox, with potential announcements during the June 2025 Xbox Showcase.
Xbox owners who love Final Fantasy games may soon receive new announcements from Square Enix. Xbox insider Jez Corden has reported that Final Fantasy 16 and the Final Fantasy 7 Remake alongside Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth might receive Xbox announcements soon with the Xbox Games Showcase event on June 8, 2025 as a potential platform for these announcements.
The gaming community has become very excited because Jez Corden’s predictions remain unconfirmed by Microsoft and Square Enix.
A Shift in Square Enix’s Multi-Platform Strategy
The Final Fantasy series has maintained a strong connection with Sony and its PlayStation consoles throughout its history. The partnership between Final Fantasy and Sony started when Final Fantasy 7 launched on the original PlayStation and remains strong with contemporary exclusive titles.
Square Enix decided to launch major games Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 16 only on PS4 and PS5 platforms which did not include Xbox.
The publisher seems to be shifting its strategy to embrace multiple platforms. The three rumored titles have been released on PC while Nintendo Switch 2 will receive Final Fantasy 7 Remake before Xbox gets it. The situation may shift shortly should these reports prove accurate.
A Big Moment for Xbox in Japan
The arrival of these titles on Xbox would represent a pivotal moment for Microsoft's standing in Japan's gaming industry. The addition of these games would increase Xbox’s RPG offerings while drawing in gamers from around the world who usually support Sony.
What to Expect at the Xbox Showcase
The Xbox Showcase on June 8 has everyone waiting to find out if these announcements will finally become official. The arrival of Final Fantasy 16, 7 Remake, and 7 Rebirth on Xbox would create one of the most thrilling moments for Xbox fans in 2025.
