The long-awaited PC version of Final Fantasy 16 has been confirmed for release on September 17. Having passed a year in development, the action RPG is set to hit new platforms and give players another, squeaky-clean chance at it.
The PC port of Final Fantasy 16 will be available via both Steam as well as through the Epic Games Store for $49.99, a big step down from the original $70 launch price on the PlayStation 5. Of course, that's more understandable now that it's a year old.
Square Enix is also offering a Complete Edition that rounds out price-wise at $69.99, giving access to the base game with both post-launch expansions - including Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide - to give players a full package for those looking to gain more from the title's story and content.
As producer Naoki Yoshida had mentioned, these extensions or expansions were already in the works, and now, being bundled with their availability in Complete Edition, this will add lots of value for players looking for an expansive Final Fantasy experience.
Apart from the full game, a Final Fantasy 16 demo is now available for PC players. This playable demo allows players to experience the very beginning of the game, where they are exposed to how everything has been laid out and how it will run.
One major feature that comes with the demo is that saves transfer over to the full release - once players finally get access to the full version, they can continue their journey without hassle.
The initial release was on PlayStation 5; Final Fantasy 16 received most of its interest and the highest praise for its action gameplay and engaging story. This will help the game transition to PC, which will unlock this experience for more broadly interested audiences, especially those who have been waiting outside of console exclusivity.
Moreover, there are speculations that the game may eventually hit Xbox Series X/S as well; however, nothing has been officially confirmed so far.
