Xbox fans will be waiting for a little bit longer to play Final Fantasy 16 since not even Square Enix are sure when this RPG is coming to Microsoft's platform.

Square Enix have plans to release Final Fantasy 16 on Xbox Series X and S consoles but at the moment, they don't have anything specific to announce, said Game Director Yoshi P.

When asked about the Xbox port of the game, Yoshi P said that Square Enix are currently not in a position to share anything on the release date but the game should eventually arrive to Xbox.

Unfortunately, Yoshi P didn't elaborate further on the Xbox port of Final Fantasy 16 so that's pretty much the only bit of new info we got. We don't really know if the game is in development for Xbox at the moment or if Square Enix plan to start the porting process sometime soon.

Judging by Yoshi P's comments, it does look like the Xbox port may not be in active development at this moment but that is just our conclusion from all of this and nothing more.

Reliable Xbox insider and WindowsCentral reporter Jez Corden previously revealed that Square Enix are set to bring a lot more Final Fantasy games to Xbox. The releases started to roll out with the announcements at Tokyo Game Show 2024 where Final Fantasy 1-6 were confirmed for Xbox Series X|S consoles.

Final Fantasy 16 was initially released as a PlayStation 5 exclusive but the game was recently launched on PC too
However, the big ones like the Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Intergrade are yet to be officially announced for Xbox. Hopefully, that changes soon as we believe it's always great when more people get to experience good games. Oh, and Square Enix could finally hit their sales targets if they start releasing their games across all platforms.
