Fear the Wolves' Steam page is now up and with it came the system requirement for the upcoming S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-esque battle royale game by Vostok Games. These requirements don't seem to be too high, which hints at good optimisation.

Fear the Wolves minimum system requirements state that an Intel Core i3-2130 or AMD FX-4100 (3.6Ghz) CPU will be enough to run the game which means seven year old processors get a pass. When it comes to GPUs, the game requires somewhat newer components but they can basically be traded for peanuts.

GeForce GTX 650 Ti or Radeon R7 260 will be the lowest end hardware players will be able to run Fear the Wolves on, and 8 GB of RAM will be required in the memory department. The game will reserve 16 GB of your disk space.

While these minimum requirements already sound rather generous, meaning pretty much everyone will be able to run the game, a note on the official states that these requirements may change further due to optimisation throughout Early Access. Supported operating systems will be Windows 7,8 and 10.

Now onto the master race's finest - the ones who want to run Fear the Wolves in glorious 60 frames per second on high details. Recommended CPU will be i7-3930K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 (3.2GHz) and the recommended GPU is GTX 970 or Radeon R9 390. These recommended requirements still don't seem to be that high, as today's GPUs that are considered high end are GTX 1070 and up or RX Vega 56, both of which are almost twice the price of R9 390.

That said, we shouldn't start getting hyped up prematurely as the suggested system requirements have been proven to be somewhat wrong, like in CliffyB's failed battle royale which listed minimum requirements that could barely boot the game up, let alone run it in a playable state.

On the bright side, Vostok Games' indirect statement that the game will be optimised further while in Early Access is rather reassuring, as it hints at the requirements going down even further.
