Focus Home Interactive and Vostok Games have released the first trailer for Fear the Wolves, but unfortunately it consists entirely of pre-rendered footage. It does tangentially show what we could expect from Fear the Wolves though.
Focus Home Interactive have said that the game will see players drop into the battlefield with nothing but their "wits, fists and whatever they can find". This is the standard battle royale formula and the trailer immediately demonstrates it as what we presume to be the player character parachutes down and picks up an axe.
Later on, the trailer shows some features that are not present in other battle royale games such as mutated wolves attacking people or herding them to certain areas or variable levels of radiation across the map. This is showcased when the hero of the trailer kills someone and takes their gas mask which allows them to visit areas with higher radiation.
The unwilling gas mask supplier was inspecting an equipment drop before he suffered a sudden case of splitting headache thanks to a fire axe hit, which is another standard mechanic from battle royale games - blunt force trauma.
Focus Home Interactive have also mentioned that "unexplainable anomalies" will be present in the game and the trailer shows one of them at the 01:14 time stamp. This one looks somewhat like the Springboard anomaly that appeared in all three S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. It is not stated or demonstrated whether players will be able to extract any artifacts from these anomalies. Picnic anyone?
Winning is also somewhat different in Fear the Wolves. While other battle royale games simply require the player to be the last man standing in order to win the game, that may or may not be the case here. A helicopter will eventually come in for an extraction, but will accept only one passenger.

Players can either kill everyone else and board the helicopter or go for a daring attempt to board it before everyone else is dead. This may prove disastrous though, as the helicopter will not take off immediately, but rather has a small countdown and players will presumably be vulnerable during that period.
More information on the game will be revealed at E3 2018, but it is confirmed that early access will commence during summer 2018. The game will release on consoles at a later point.
