Far Cry 5's second DLC, named Lost on Mars, is kicking off next week, on 17 July 2018 and now it has another teaser trailer. Ubisoft have previously teased it along with other DLC, but this trailer offers more insight into the story.

According to the official description, this DLC will be where Far Cry insanity meets Mars, and the story begins when the vanilla game's pilot Nick Rye agrees to help the fan favourite, Hurk, "out of a jam". What Nick probably couldn't imagine in his wildest dreams is that this mission would take him a some way out of Hope County.

Ubisoft claim that he was teleported to Mars, but no clear explanation on how that happened is given. The only indication are Hurk's ramblings that Nick can hear in the beginning of the trailer,  where he asks Nick if he remembers when he promised to help Hurk out if he ever got "seduced by a super hot, super intelligent being of dubious moral standing who whisked him away to an exotic land". I'm sure all of that made sense in retrospect, once Nick landed on Mars.

Nick will have to battle through hostile land with only Hurk at his side, as opposed to the Hope County adventure where the deputy built and helped an entire resistance network. This also means no side quests to liberate countless outposts, which should put more focus on the narrative. This would also somewhat redeem the game for Season Pass owners, as most of them found Hours of Darkness lacking.

Nick and Hurk's main mission will apparently be to restore power to ANNE, a futuristic AI who represents humanity's last line of defence against arachnid enemies. The story sounds kind of like Destiny and Starship Troopers' bastard child, as it features AI that is the Earth's means of defence as well as bugs that need squashing.

Arcade enthusiasts might be more hyped about the new assets they will get for the map editor though, as Ubisoft have previously stated that all the DLC assets will be available for players to toy with.
