Fallout 76 Wastelanders is finally going to add human NPCs to Bethesda's GaaS attempt but it has to go through some testing first. The beta sign-ups are ending in the late hours of 14 January 2020 so you might want to give it a shot.
Wastelanders beta for Fallout 76 will be available on PC only. Furthermore, the sign-ups are ending at 6:00 PM ET / 11:00 PM GMT on 14 January 2020. In order to try and get a spot in the beta test, you will need to visit Bethesda's sign-up site and fill the required forms.
There are a few rules that need to be followed if you are looking to get an early taste of what Wastelanders has to offer. For starters, you will need to sign an NDA that will prevent you from sharing any recorded footage or imagery that you might acquire during the test.
Those that do get into the test will do so on an in-development Wastelanders build and as such, they should expect to encounter issues during gameplay. In other words, it shouldn't differ much from the regular Fallout 76 experience.
Since the testing will be done on a PTS, it shouldn't be confused with the upcoming Private Test Server that Bethesda has in the works. This one is independent and serves solely for the purpose of testing out the Wastelanders updates.
All progress made will be saved and available upon the next login to PTS but there may be instances where Bethesda will need to wipe it. More importantly, no progress from the PTS will carry over to the live version of Fallout 76 when Wastelanders launches.
Wastelanders PTS will be up at all times after 17 January 2020, meaning those who get into the test will always have access until the PTS goes offline at a date that will be announced at a later point in this. Certain downtime during maintenance is possible.
