Epic Games and Fortnite are in full love swing with the Share the Love event and now they shared some more love, as the company posted the balancing adjustments that are coming as part of tomorrow's 7.40 update to Fortnite: Battle Royale.
We must admit that Fortnite's first balancing change gave us a chuckle as Epic wrote that Stormwings will no longer be able to smash through structures.
Now, it's not so much the information we found funny - it's that it doesn't take long to realise why. Put a guy on an actual plane, he thinks he's dying. Give him a Stormwing in Fortnite - here he comes crashing into your freshly built villa.
Speaking of Fortnite-constructed villas, hand cannons no longer deal 150 damage to structures but 100. Turbo build delay has been dropped by a tenth of a second, i.e. from 0.15 to 0.05 seconds.
Fortnite's ziplines now come with an interact prompt and using them no longer allows for fall damage. Rocket launcher reload times are up to 3.24 seconds, compared to the previous 2.52 seconds.
Epic have been teasing a new weapon on Fortnite's splash screen but other than the name, infantry rifle, we know very little. It does look like a variant of a hunting rifle but we guess we'll know soon enough.
In case you haven't been following, Fortnite is currently hosting their Valentine-themed event Share the Love, even though there's very little loving once you've dropped. I know, I know, they meant figuratively.
As part of the 7.40 update, Share the Love will get special overtime challenges, both for Battle Pass holders and the free playing crowds. We're talking about additional challenges that grant some nice looking cosmetics, although those for Battle Pass holders are a bit more exclusive.
Epic also wrote that all the weekends until 27 February 2019 are double XP ones and there's even the Share the Love competitive series, if you feel you've got more luck in gaming than in love.
