According to the latest reports, a person close to the game’s development said that, due to the disruption in the development of the game, they believed it was unlikely Elden Ring would make it out this year.
The latest report from trusted VGC brings both good and bad news for Elden Ring fans. It seems that the game will soon get a brand new trailer, which has been leaked ahead of the official reveal. However, a person close to FromSoftware has revealed that the development of the game has been severely hampered by the COVID-19 pandemic, which means the 2021 release date is not likely.
"People with knowledge of the game’s development told VGC that production has been significantly hampered by remote working restrictions, which have been in place for nearly a year. One person close to the game’s development said that, due to the disruption, they believed it was unlikely Elden Ring would make it out this year," it's written in the report.
Furthermore, the same report confirms the earlier rumour from Reddit, which stated that Elden Ring has been delayed several times internally.
As for the leaked trailer, the gameplay footage shows "a montage of Souls-style combat, boss battles against a fire-breathing dragon and a large, sword-wielding foe, and a glimpse at horseback combat in a large, open environment." Exciting stuff, indeed.
"I can only imagine what drives you to seek the Elden Ring," a narrator says in the trailer. "I suppose you can’t be talked into turning back. Very well then!"
Hopefully, we'll get to see this one very soon.
