Need For Speed fans rejoice, a new title is likely on the way. The official website is already teasing an announcement that is due on 14 August 2019. There are hints that this is a new entry in the series, courtesy of a conference call.
EA are going to announce a new Need For Speed game on 14 August 2019. The company didn't explicitly say it's a new Need For Speed but they did tease one during a financial conference call and that was where they let the cat out of the bag first.
Now it seems like the publisher is ready to officially announce the game. It will be Wednesday, the middle of the week, during the regular nine to five work hours in Europe and midnight in the US west coast. The exact time should be 15:00 CEST or 00:00 PDT (15 August 2019).
The information is extrapolated from the countdown on the official website, which you can use yourself to check out when the news will hit you.
Considering the timing, you should expect enough of a teaser reveal to get you hooked, with the actual juicy information reserved for Gamescom 2019 which will be held in Cologne, Germany from 20 to 24 August 2019.
This year also marks the 25 anniversary of the franchise and a blog post from the end of May 2019 openly said that a new Need For Speed would release during the year. With that in mind, there is little to no doubt that this is the countdown to the new game reveal.
It is quite possible that Gamescom 2019 will hold plenty of gameplay footage or even gaming booths where fans will be able to try the game for themselves. We are in the eighth month of 2019 after all and there isn't much of the year left, leading us to believe the new Need For Speed is in late development already.
Let's just hope the focus is on making a good game instead of maximum monetisation potential this time around.
