Capcom today revealed new information about Monster Hunter Wilds‘ final major update, as well as what’s next for the game. In a new anniversary greeting, series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto detailed what players can look forward to with Version 1.041 later this month.
Slated to release later this month to celebrate the game’s first anniversary, the update is focused on “quality of life improvements,” new event content, and anniversary rewards on all platforms.
It also concludes Wilds’ major content update schedule. Most notably, Capcom also announced that development has already begun on a major expansion to Wilds, with more details to be revealed this summer.
Monster Hunter Wilds Ver.1.041 Release Details
Version 1.041 is released on February 18. This version provides the last patch as well as general performance tuning and quality of life changes. Play your way through Anniversary celebrations available through February 19.
Anniversary Rewards and Activities:
- Special log-in bonuses
- The Hunter Appreciation Pack
- Weekly rotations of Festival of Accord events
New Event Quests and Unlockable Rewards
Several timed quests will also grant players exclusive rewards. These include:
- Unique pendants
- Quest to hunt down the least defeated monster in the Forbidden Lands
- Quest to unlock materials for the Gala Suit α armour set and Felyne Star α Palico set
- Additionally each player will receive a Character and Palico Edit Voucher to redeem for free as part of the anniversary festivities.
Completing the Event Quest Every Hunter’s Dream will also unlock the winning community submissions:
- Shatterseal Great Sword designed by Nolan Lu
- Meatmergency! pendant designed by ikei
There’s also a new side quest featuring Support Hunter Nadia that allows players to earn her armour set as personal loot.
What Comes Next
In celebration of Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection launching on March 13, players will be able to take on a collaboration quest starting February 18.
Players will be able to help Rudy the Royal Palico for themed Palico gear and Monstie-inspired necklaces.
Although Ver.1.041 will conclude regular updates, Capcom has announced a Monster Hunter Wilds expansion is in development, with more to be shared this summer.
