Niantic officially announced that Detective Pikachu event is now live in Pokemon Go and it will run until Friday, 17 May 2019. The event will add Pokemon from the film to raids and also increase the spawn rate of these Pokemon in the wild.

If you're one of those people who are excited for the upcoming Detective Pikachu movie and you also play Pokemon Go a lot, you'll be happy to hear that Niantic and Pokemon Company are bringing a special Detective Pikachu-themed event to Pokemon Go to celebrate the release of the film.

You'll have plenty of time to catch Pokemon that feature in the movie as the special event runs until Friday, 17 May 2019 at 1 p.m. PDT (GMT -7). During the event, Pokemon that you can see in the cinema this week will appear in raids and also show up more frequently in the wild.

On top of that, if you are lucky, you could be photobombed by a Pikachu in a detective hat and you'll be able to catch one of your very own detectives. The special event also includes a double XP bonus for catching Pokemon.

Furthermore, a special themed Field Research will be available during the Detective Pikachu event and Themed avatar items will be available in the Style Shop including a detective hat with Pikachu ears and a black t-shirt with Pokemon Detective Pikachu logo.

And that would be everything included in the new limited-time Pokemon Go event. You can grab your smartphone and start catching the creatures right now as the event is live on both iOS and Android.

In other Pokemon Go news, recently, Niantic held an Earth clean up event in which Pokemon GO players helped remove around 145 tons of trash in various countries all over the world.

Also, Pokemon Go May Community Day event is scheduled to take place on 19 May 2019 and it features fire-type Pokemon Torchic that can evolve into Combusken and then to Blaziken later on. Traditionally, triple Catch Stardust and lures will also be available.
