Bungie are adding alternative means of gaining Bright Dust in Destiny 2 and increasing the total we can get in a season, although it's still lower than it was before Beyond Light.

Destiny 2 is slowly stepping away from bounties and introducing more ways to earn both experience and Bright Dust. In the case of the latter, it will now be available from seasonal challenges, weekly vendor challenges and additional bonuses.

Seasonal challenges are the new addition that will debut with Season 13 and will offer both experience and BD for those who complete them. These will last for the entirety of the season but not all of them will be introduced immediately as they appear to be designed for a drip-feed type of deployment.

Weekly vendor challenges are already known to Destiny 2 players. They are the things that give you Powerful gear when you complete eight bounties for a vendor. The examples include Zavala, Shaxx, Banshee-44 and Drifter. Starting with Season 13, these challenges will also award 120 Bright Dust.

Additional bonuses include the ability to gain Bright Dust through season pass, which we have already seen in Beyond Light, and the bonus for completing enough Seasonal challenges.

In total, we will be able to earn 34,540 Bright Dust which is 2,530 more than what was available in Season 12. Still, it is less than the whopping 45,900 Bright Dust we could get in Season 11 and earlier but at least it's some sort of a start.
