Bungie announced that PvP fans in Destiny 2 will be able to grab more masterworking materials during Guardian Games because Hunters were unhappy last year.
Guardian Games of 2020 were not a popular in-game event for Destiny 2. One of the reasons is that Hunters came firing on all cylinders on the first day and then disappeared into thin air while Titans were teabagging their banner in the Tower.
Due to the disproportionately high amount of Hunters in PvP, Bungie decided to make up for the weights they placed on the class' banner last year by making the event all about Crucible in 2021.
Furthermore, Lord Shaxx will be dishing out double the rewards for each major Valor rank that features masterworking materials, meaning we will get double Enhancement Cores, Prisms and Ascendant Shards. All of this will only be possible if your helmet stays on at all times.
The announcement came on April 1, 2021, a few weeks ahead of the annual Guardian Games. One odd detail about the news is that Shaxx became suspicious as soon as he spotted "WgXcQ" markings all around him, especially now that people doubt his sanity, following that Moon Made of Cheese song.
Consulting with Rahool yielded some interesting results. It appears that WgXcQ was discovered in several engrams that were tied with a certain dance that commemorates the golden days of a bygone age. You can check out the dance in question in the video below.
The entire situation was quite weird and our inquiries about clarification received no response from Bungie, on the account of us never actually emailing the developers about our spoof article at the start of April.
