Bungie folks usually prepare a gift or a small event for the Destiny community for the Bungie Day, which falls on July 7 (7/7 - surprise, surprise). They also prepared one for 2021, which is just a few weeks away from now but it appears that the surprise was ruined, although the gift should still put smiles on many faces.
The gift in question is the Spicy Ramen emblem that can track stats from pretty much every activity, looks nice and references a beloved part of the game lore.
Now, the emblem seems to have appeared in the wild early and some players are getting their hands on codes to unlock it before it's time. The supposed secrecy and exclusivity of the emblem made the demand for it to skyrocket which eventually drew code holders to sell them, going as far as $50 apiece.
This resulted in Bungie to prompt players not to buy these emblems - they will get them for free during Bungie Day 2021. The day is just over two weeks away from the time of typing so it would be a good idea to heed Bungie's warnings and not waste money for nothing.
There are also reports of Bungie removing the emblems from accounts that purchased codes from resellers but it hasn't been confirmed officially. That said, it's better to be safe than sorry - don't buy them.
