One of the most powerful PvP subclasses in Destiny 2 is getting major changes for Season 15 in an attempt to shake up the meta.

Stasis may have been crushing Light subclasses for a long time in Destiny 2 PvP but the subsequent series of nerfs brought it somewhat in line with its peers. However, even during the strongest periods of Stasis dominance, one Light subclass kept up - the top tree Dawnblade (TTD).

This is mostly thanks to TTD's high mobility coupled with the unique skill to remain in the sky while shooting precisely. The combination of these two traits was extremely powerful and come Season 15, it will be rebalanced .

Celestial Fire, the melee ability, will not detect opposing Guardians as well anymore and the detonation itself will have a smaller radius. Furthermore, the damage falloff will be more significant at shorter distances.

The actually meaty changes are to Icarus Dash and Heat Rises though. Icarus Dash can no longer be activated twice before going on cooldown, which is now four seconds. Upon activating Heat Rises, however, the Dawnblade will gain the ability to use the dash twice but on a five-second cooldown.

To compensate, Heat Rises will now last 15 seconds, up from 10, and the duration will be extended by a longer period of time upon scoring a kill. On the flip side, the Dawnblade's location will appear on the enemy Guardians' radars upon using Heat Rises.

Overall, the changes will make the class riskier and less reliable but the rewards for playing well should make it even better in the right hands.
