Guardians grew impatient after the wait for the Traveler to do something apparently and some of them managed to get into Beyond Light prematurely, taking screenshots of several weapons in the process, both Exotic and Legendary.
Destiny 2 Beyond Light hasn't been released at the time of writing due to Bungie working on the update during the 14-hour downtime but that didn't stop curious players from obtaining info on what awaits us on the frozen Europa.
One player appears to have inexplicably gained access to Beyond Light and used the opportunity the best way possible - by providing info about juicy weapons coming in the expansion so fellow Guardians can feast their eyes upon them.
There are five weapons in total that the image gallery contains:
- The Lament (Sword)
- Salvation's Grip (Grenade Launcher)
- Duality (Shotgun)
- Stars in Shadow (Pulse Rifle, high impact)
- Trustee (Scout Rifle, rapid-fire)
There are some key takeaways from the images. First, The Lament can be revved up which should give us all that epic feeling of using a chain sword, not unlike the ones in Warhammer 40K games.
Duality is possibly the first shotgun with a truly high skill ceiling. Aiming it down sights will cause the gun to shoot a slug while hipfire will make it act like a regular shotgun. In the right hands, it will make all our lives in Crucible miserable.
Trustee has rapid-fire frame! This means Bungie are reintroducing the archetype in Destiny 2. It also has Redirection perk which increases damage against higher rank enemies if you previously damaged the cannon fodder.
Stars in the Shadow also features a new perk, called Thresh. It is straightforward and gives you Super energy bump when you kill someone with it.
