Bungie released the launch trailer for Destiny 2: Beyond Light which will now have less competition in the launch week but the Guardians will have dark days ahead regardless.

Beyond Light is just two weeks away now but it appears the modern trends dictate launch trailers to be released a few weeks before the actual launch.

The trailer itself starts off with a showcase of Stasis powers being used in the cinematic but one potentially more interesting detail is that Eris Morn appears to be using it as well. Those who bother reading Destiny lore will remember she has no Ghost as it was slain in Hellmouth so this could be an interesting turn of events if she gains some power from the Darkness.

Then again, the way the cinematic was cut leaves this open for debate as some other Guardian could have used the powers to protect her. For example, this could be the Exo Stranger who is seen clearly using Stasis even though she's not a Guardian.

She also insists Stasis is just a tool and nothing to be afraid of but we've heard one too many tales gone wrong with that kind of thinking.

Meanwhile, the big bad Eramis and Variks are clearly clashing over the decision what is best for the Fallen's future. While Variks will probably insist on staying the race's course, Eramis is leaning into the Darkness to cut their dependency on the Servitors and ether.

All of this is shown against the backdrop of Sebastian Böhm's version of Paint It Black which is both on point and great atmosphere building.
