A brand new Marvel's Iron Man game is currently in development at EA Motive studio, it's been officially announced today by EA. The rumours about this project have been swirling around the gaming forums and social media for a while now but now we have the first legit details about this new superhero game.
Marvel's Iron Man will be a single-player, third-person, action-adventure game. It's currently in early development and the dev team is being led by Olivier Proulx, the man who previously worked on Marvel titles like Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.
EA say that Marvel's Iron Man will feature an original narrative that taps into the rich history of Iron Man, channelling the complexity, charisma and creative genius of Tony Stark". Apparently, players will get to feel what it's like to truly play as Iron Man.
Motive studio say that the game is currently in the pre-production phase and more updates will be shared as the team gets further along in development.
Additionally, the press release mentions that Iron Man is the first of several new games that EA and Marvel are cooking up. We know EA are also working on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and there's the rumour about a Black Panther game. Though, that one is yet to be officially confirmed so certainly don't take it as gospel.
EA Motive are currently also working on the highly-anticipated Dead Space Remake, which is due on January 27, 2023. The team previously developed the dog fighting title Star Wars: Squadrons.
It's a newly formed studio at EA, who have been switching their focus to single-player games after failures like Anthem, Battlefield V and now Battlefield 2042 among others.
