The highly-anticipated remake of the iconic sci-fi horror Dead Space has officially gone gold, the developer EA Motive announced via Twitter.
"The entire Motive team is excited to announce that Dead Space has gone gold! Thanks to all the fans who supported us this far. See you all on January 27," they tweeted.
In case you're unfamiliar with the term, "gone gold" usually means the final game build is ready for shipping. Of course, this doesn't mean that the work on the game is done as the developers continue working on polishing, optimisation and bug fixing for potential day-one patch and post-launch updates.
Additionally, "gone gold" also means delays are unlikely but not impossible with Cyberpunk 2077 being one of the best examples of a game that went gold but was delayed despite that.
Dead Space Remake was already delayed once but the recently released gameplay does look pretty good and ready to go so hopefully, the January release date is set in stone.
Dead Space Remake is hitting the shelves on January 27, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
