After the announcement of the official release date for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Cameron Monaghan, the actor who plays Cal Kestis, gave an interview for Entertainment Weekly revealing some details about Cal's new look.
The main protagonist of the upcoming action-adventure Star Wars Jedi: Survivor , Cal Kestis, has received the most visible makeover as you've probably noticed from the new trailer and screenshots. Cal appeared in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order as a youthful, chin-bared teenager who was still trying to find his place under the Sun of The Empire. With the addition of his new beard, the new Cal appears a little bit older and darker.
Cal's actor Cameron Monaghan was asked by Entertainment Weekly if his real-life appearance was the inspiration for Cal's new image. He answered: " That’s true, obviously, when you get older some very interesting changes happen to your body. So we sat down with the creative team. We had a little presentation. We brought the projector into the room and explained what might happen.”
He explained that there were some inquiries about Cal's looks, but they ultimately came to an agreement that he has to look darker and more serious because the journey in the next game will be darker and more serious too. So adding a beard to his looks was a logical course of action.
Further in the interview, Monaghan talked about what we can expect from the upcoming Star Wars Jedi Survivor, but one of his statements was particularly interesting. “This is going to be an emotional rollercoaster for people,” he said. “I think that you’d have to be made of stone for it to not hit you in the heart.”
Knowing the first game's plot was not as emotional, we cannot wait to see how the story of the new game will unravel.
Star Wars Jedi Survivor will come to stores on March 17, 2023, and will be available for PC, PlayStation5, and Xbox Series X|S.
