According to reliable GamesBeat reporter Jeff Grubb, the rumoured Dead Space project won't be a full sequel or a spin-off title. Apparently, it more like a full remake with some extra features, improved controls and more.
EA are reportedly taking inspiration from Capcom's Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes. If you played these games, you'll know that these are the recreation of the original game with modern graphics, sound, controls and some extra content.
If EA are indeed doing something similar with their horror franchise, we assume Dead Space fans will be happy with such direction. It's also the safest bet for EA, who lost the trust of Dead Space fans a long time ago when they shut down Visceral Studio, so bringing back the iconic and beloved game from the dead with new stunning visuals is something that could turn out to be a smart decision.
It's certainly smarter than doing a brand new Dead Space game without the creative force behind the original titles.
Anyway, we expect to hear more about this Dead Space remake at the upcoming EA Play show, which is currently scheduled for July 22, 2021.
