According to the reports, Ubisoft veteran Eric Baptizat has confirmed that he will take the Game Director role for the upcoming remake of the iconic sci-fi horror Dead Space.
Earlier this year, former Ubisoft dev Eric Baptizat joined EA Motive, the studio who are currently working on the Dead Space remake. Shortly after that, rumours started to surface that Baptizat will be helming this Dead Space project and according to the latest reports, it seems that is, indeed the truth.
As VGC report, Baptizat now has confirmed via his LinkedIn profile that he is acting as the game director for the highly-anticipating Dead Space remake. Baptizat previously worked as a Game Director on Ubisoft's latest action adventure Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Lead Game Designer on Assassin's Creed Origins, Assassin's Creed Black Flag and other Ubisoft developed and published titles.
It's safe to say that this will be a great addition to EA Motive, who already teased the Dead Space remake at the recent EA Play show.
The game should be a reimaining of the original with some additional features, taken from the second and the third game in the series. Think Resident Evil 2 Remake. That's what EA are aiming for and if they manage to pull it off, we're up for a special, special remake.
Dead Space originally released way back in October 2008 and over the years, it's been recognized as one of the best sci-fi horror games ever made. Fans have been craving for a new game in the series, and while the coming remake won't be exactly that, it's still more than enough to start the hype train among the Dead Space community.
