A group of The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 developers have founded a new studio called Blank. The team is currently working on an unannounced character-driven adventure.

A group of former CD Projekt Red developers have embarked on a new journey by establishing a studio called Blank. A team of developers who worked on The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077 will work on a unique experience focusing on the novel territory.

For their first game, Blank are working on an unannounced character-driven adventure "set in an apocalypse, with a twist or two". You can check out the first concept art in our header image.

The studio is headquartered in Warsaw, Poland and has ten team members but they are looking to grow to 60 people as the production on their unannounced project ramps up.

Blank’s co-founders include Mateusz Kanik (CD Projekt Red) taking on the role of Game Director, Jędrzej Mróz (CD Projekt Red) and Marcin Jefimow (CD Projekt Red, 11 Bit Studios) joining as Executive Producers, and Mikołaj Marchewka (Rookiez from Warsaw S.A) joining as Managing Director.

The founders have brought together an exceptional team of developers: Michal Dobrowolski (CD Projekt Red) joins as Design Director, Artur Ganszyniec (CD Projekt Red, 11 Bit Studios) as Narrative Director, with Grzegorz Przybyś (Division 48 Studio, Artificer) as Art Director.

Game Director Mateusz Kanik said that the team is ready to create bold and impactful games after years of working in "an increasingly conservative industry" and added that Blank will give creative freedom to the team and are determined to avoid crunch while creating "highly polished games with a focus on emotion, story and craftsmanship".

Since the studio are just starting to staff up, it may take a while before we see their first game so stay patient and give them a follow on social media channels.
